| There
are four ways to enter Yosemite, with each is as different as can be. First
we will be entering from the south through Bass
Lake. The southern entrance is, I believe,
the most beautiful way to enter the Park. |

|
| Highway
41 climbs to over 6600 feet through lush
pine forest before entering the Park. The Ahwahnee Hotel is the
first thing we came to. Be sure to take the road to the Mariposa Grove
of Giant Sequoias. |
|
| These
Sequoias are immense. The only trees that are taller are the California
Redwoods that are found along the coast
just south of the Oregon state line. But the redwoods are only 10 to 15
feet in diameter. These Sequoia are 25 to 30 feet in diameter! |

|
| After
a short drive from the Ahwahnee Hotel you enter the 'long' tunnel. Right
after we left the tunnel we were greeted by the breath taking view
of the Yosemite Valley.
On
our next page we will reenter the Park through the Tioga Pass entrance. |
