The drive along the coast of Oregon is provides some of the loveliest scenery. The photography is as difficult here as in the Hawaiian Island of Kauai due to the constant rainfall
These scenes are very deceptive. The driftwood shown is enormous! Some of the trunks of the trees are over 15 feet in diameter!

The shots below are of the lumber mill in Beaverton Oregon, just south of Portland. The facility is located in what looks like a lake. They have dug a pit in the middle of the lake and are using gravity and water to move the logs from one station to another.
People that live in the Pacific Northwest are a strange bred of cat. Most of them originally came from California, but have, over the years, relocated to the area. They treat individuals from their former home as if they were lepers! I find them hypocritical in the extreme!
