Before we left Sequoia, we stopped and climbed Moro Rock (over 6000'). The view was excellent. I wished I had a picked up a cheap panoramic cameras. Next stop was Grant Grove where we find another of the stands of Giant Sequoias.

I have trouble imaging these mountains before the coming of the white man. They cut down almost all of these trees.

Someday I want to come back here and take an Aerial Tour and really get some pictures.
Kings Canyon itself is dramatic with steep canyon walls and rushing rapids. The road follows the canyon for quite a ways and provides for some spectacular scenes. Zumwalt Meadows is pristine and accessible by foot right from the road. The road finally dead ends at Cedar Grove where camping is allowed. (with a years notice)
The John Muir Trail is the Backbone of the trail system that laces throughout the Sequoia - Kings Canyon Region
Our sojourn to Kings Canyon included a visit to Boyden Caverns. The caverns aren't very deep or large but they are beautiful to look at. Not being part of the National Park, they're not as well maintained nor even lighted. One has to climb about 100 meters up the side of the canyon on a ziz-zaz walkway. Strenuous but a nice view. Watch out for the giant cave spiders once inside.
There is plenty of lodging and a few restaurants in and about the Parks but plan and book in advance.
Watch out for bears
Sequoia has the Giant Sequoia trees, Kings Canyon has Sequoias and spectacular canyons. Next we visit the best of all, Yosemite which has Giant Sequoias and incredible canyons and  fantastic waterfalls

It doesn't get any better, at least not in California, than this.
