People who live on the Island exist in what is called Island Time or Rubber Time. Pacific Islanders don't have the same concept of time as European or Asians. Any event that is to take place later that same day is 'fifteen minutes'. If the event is to take place sometime in the future, be it one day or one year, it is 'tomorrow'. Islanders are notorious for missing appointments. Hawaiian Tour Guides are never on time and their tours always end up running late.  Aloha

As we flew over Kauai; I saw the result of the voluminous rainfall amounts in the incredible number of waterfalls. Some of the falls are hundreds of feet in height. Photo above: Na Pali Coast

Most of the residents of Kauai live in corrigated steel houses.

Kauai is a land of extremes. The western end of the Island gets almost no rainfall and is quite dry.
The vegetation found in the western area of Kauai include; several varieties of cactus and succulents.

Next we visit Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali Coast. We flew through and over Waimea Canyon as well as drive to the Lookout Points. The day we drove to the canyon it rained all day. But the day we flew we experienced some clearing and were able to take some nice shots.
